 Speaker Biographies

John Drakulich - Senior Vice President, Chief Growth Officer OptumRx

John Drakulich is responsible for providing oversight, guidance and direction for Sales and Marketing, as well as crafting general business development strategy within OptumRx. In this position, he is also a senior leader of the Pharmacy Services Group. John’s pharmacy benefit management experience is extensive – in both the integrated and “stand alone” markets – with over 19 years of industry experience.

Previous to his current position, John managed the national sales teams at Anthem/WellPoint’s PBM division. Post merger, John was elected to manage all of WellPoint’s “NextRx” divisions: Sales, Marketing, RFP and Market Strategy as vice president, Sales and Marketing. He was responsible for growing internal and external PBM membership and providing general market leadership to the largest “health plan owned” PBM in the United States.

Prior to this, John was vice president of Sales for Prime Therapeutics, a BCBS-owned PBM concern, where he established a growth strategy centered on collaborative efforts of multiple independently licensed BCBS plans across the country.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Paul Kiser - Senior Vice President, Client Management OptumRx

Paul Kiser joined UnitedHealthcare Pharmacy in 2004 as Vice President, Sales and Account Management focused on national employers.  In 2006 he assumed additional responsibility for the mid-market employer groups and fully insured customer segment in addition to overseeing consultant and broker relationships for pharmacy.  Currently he is responsible for Client Management for Employer and Individual segments for OptumRx and is a member of the Pharmacy Executive Leadership Team.    

Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Paul spent 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry with Searle, Pharmacia and Pfizer.  He held executive positions in strategic planning, PBM contracting, marketing, operations, national accounts management, government programs and sales. 

He received his undergraduate degree from St. Xavier University and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.
